If he’s complaining about a 1200 part, he’s not going to do anything related to a 416

Thanks! A Nf would probably be nice and light and balanced. But the last few times to the range have been with a 25 so this thing already feels like a toy lol

Yeah, all of AFSOC's recces used Surefire FA556-212s. 14.5" HK416 with Surefire and then depending on the era they would have the S&B 1-4 Short Dot, NF 2.5-10x32 or Leupold 1-6 MK6. Almost all of them with the Geissele Rev B SMR but you'll see a couple with a Remington RAHG.

Awesome thanks for those pics..!  Unfortunately I won't be able to go down the HK416 rabbit hole anytime soon lolz.  Any chance somebody did one with the full length KAC Mk12 rail (...not the MRE) and a Surefire?  I'm thinking I want to convert my Mk12 mod 1 to a Recce...  so a Mk12 upper and a Surefire are the parts I have to work with...

Probably send the barrel to ADCO to be cut down to the gas block or go with a new barrel entirely.

Go look in the mini recce thread 2keylows did that. It's not a setup seen in the wild but it is a pretty cool rig.

Just get a 15.1" and get an aem5.

If it were me I'd stick to doing something clone vs. an assembly of random parts. The Block II recces that seem to be more popular lately with certain units are pretty damn cool. And it's a relatively low-entry build as well other than the optic being kinda pricey.

curious about where to toe that line, personally. I've got a blkii franken-rec that seems to fall short for the clone correctness, but takes hints from a little bit of everywhere. Blkii, mk12, big lots, etc.

Picked this up this week.

It has a 5.56 70gr 14.5 BDC turret, however I'm not sure if its from the unit like this or not.
I know its been seen on CAG and AFSOC 416/sr25s, but does anyone else have pics of them w/ DG besides this one?

Haven't been shooting much but I did break away last Friday and tested out a bootleg carrier in the NSW.

Third setting from full suppressed setting and it ran perfect with an H2 and sprinco with 75gr handloads.

Man it cut almost all the gas blowback out. I only ran one mag but it was a really noticeable difference in recoil impulse and gas to face.
