| Anyone else have this issue. BCM 9" 300BO. In one groove the chrome has delaminated from the muzzle to about 7/8" into the barrel, when I get home I'll try to get pictures. How common is this, I don't recall seeing any posts discussing this. I bought this barrel on the EE so BCM's warranty won't cover it. It would have to be shortened an inch to take out the delam, then it might continue delaming anyway. |
| I would like to see a few pictures, and despite the fact you bought off EE, I would still contact BCM, because if it is really delaming, then it is a manufacturing defect and I am sure they would like to know about it. They are a highly reputable company and any defects you find, should be sent to them so they can analyze and figure out what went wrong. |
| I bought this barrel off the EE a little over a month ago, set it aside while deciding on an upper and rail. The rail was back ordered and arrived this week. When cleaning the barrel prior to mounting I noticed an odd looking spot in the muzzle, further inspection revealed significant delams in two grooves and at least one land. |

Just give them a call and tell them your problem. Chances are they'll take it back no questions asked. I had one of their bolt carriers years ago and I noticed a gas leak. Well over the 1 year period. They replaced it no questions asked and even test fired it. If it was me, I'd just shoot it after cleaning it. |

If you think that's bad you should bore scope just ahead of the chamber I clean and lube mine all the time. |
| When I get home after the weekend I'll see if I can get some pictures. Some areas are easily visible. The largest area is harder to see, may not show up as well in pics as its hard to see with the naked eye. I'm not bashing the mfg. just asking if anyone else has experienced this. I originally posted this in the Industry Forum and got no responses. |

Cross post this in the BCM Industry forum. I'm sure they'll take notice. OP, contact BCM with those pics. I'm fairly certain they'll help you out one way or another. |

Looks like the pervious owner went hard core cleaning with a steel sectional rod muzzle to chamber. However I bet BCM helps. I thought OP was full of spit, but after seeing those pics, I agree with him. It looks to be delaminating |

Melonite would have prevented this......... ![]() I like my CL bbl's as much as my melonite ones, but more and more companies nowadays are using Nitride/Melonite QPQ because it's cheaper and provides the same advantages as CL, if not better. Now I wouldn't use melonite on a FA gun or one that I mag dump on, CL seems to have the advantage there as far as heat resistance. |
