Hi, I just bought a Saint AR-15, my first. I like it a lot, getting used to it right now. My question is what is that small dovetail/Picatinny type mount under the front blade sight there for ?  Its right next tot he sling strap attachment ? Is that a place I can buy an adapter and put a bipod ?

Yes, already I am thinking about the Ruger breakdown rifle. And boxes of shit.

On the bayonet mount, is there an adapter to put a bipod there ?

There are. Though I have not used one, so I cannot recommend one.

Help me here, why do you want to mount a bipod to the barrel?  Other than not having the capability of mounting to the handguard, assuming it is free floated.
