| So gonna buy myself a Christmas present for being so awesome and trying to figure out what is left on my AR that needs an upgrade and I'm thinking it's the trigger. I have an Aero Precision 16in mid length set up in a Reece configuration currently it has a Geissele g2s trigger. I'm looking at a ssa-e or a cmc 2 stage. Not partial to either one the cmc is cheaper |

I have really liked the light 1.2 pound second stage and crisp break of the SSA-E. I cannot comment on the CMC one way or another.
The trigger you have is a SSA equivalent. The first stage of the SSA-E will be almost the same. The second stage will be almost a pound lighter and the break more crisp. |

If you want the SSA-E pull without all of the SSA-E price, look at the B-G2S-E. It's a brownells exclusive version of the G2S that feels just like the SSA-E.

I have G2S, G2S-E from brownells (is to the SSA-E what the G2S is to the SSA--the same thing, just different hammer pin retention), and a CMC single-stage.
The CMC won't fit a few of my lowers (aero ghost gun, MATEN) but when i found one it fit in, that sucker's sweet. Too light and too short a reset for the large frame anyway; even the G2S was bumpfiring regularly on that gun. If you like a 2-stage, then go with the SSA-E or G2S-E. If you want to try a single, the CMC is a dang nice trigger for the price point. Timney makes some nice stuff too. Just please, for the love of Lucifer, leave the Jard alone. I had THREE of their AK triggers break at the range attempting to test them after install; disconnectors looked like the surface of the moon inside where they broke in half. Terrible quality cast parts that don't hold up for shit. And their customer service is worse than atrocious. |

The LaRue MBT-2S is currently $125 at the "I've got time" price. LaRue MBT
This is an extremely nice trigger, it's every bit as nice as a Geissele. It comes with 2 trigger springs, allowing you to choose the final pull weight. The heavier spring is like an SSA trigger, while the lighter spring is like an SSA-E. The trigger blade is wider than a standard trigger, which (to me) is great for positioning my finger for a straight-back pull. |

I have tried the G2S, an SSA, SSA-E, an S3G and the Larue MBT. While I liked the SSA-E and the S3G (scary fast with rolling reset and great for double-taps), the MBT's wider trigger bow felt better to me for my type of shooting and for the money (~$125)...it can't be beat. |

I don't think it is that light. SSA-E is 2.3+1.2 for total pull through of 3.5. |

I recently bought one during the Black Friday sale LaRue Tactical had for $99.99 (I've got time" price). It arrived yesterday. |

IME second stage on the MBT is about 2lb. Overall pull weight varied a bit between the two MBT's I checked on my gauge. One was a little lighter than my B-G2S-E (should feel the same as an SSA-E) and one was pretty much the same weight. I need the lighter second stage of the SSA-E, well below 2 pounds. I only have a cheap RCBS trigger pull gauge (spring type). I hang a weight from it to "calibrate". Pretty rough. I can only approximate. Total pull through is averaging about 3 pounds 6-7 ounces and the imprecise nature of the gauge makes it very difficult to measure second stage reliably. |

I appreciate the lighter second stage as well. I've gone to running the MBT's on most my rifles. My precision rigs are getting High Speed Match triggers with second stages set around 8oz. I grabbed two more over black Friday when they were on sale for $209 delivered |
