| Can someone shed some light on this for me please, did Sabre Defence manufacture BBls in the UK or only in the US, if so where they chambered 5.56mm or .223?? |
|
I do not know the history of where they were/were not made, but this one is marked "5.56".

SDI made some of the best button-rifled barrels around. They were the former Ramus corp. that made MaDeuce barrels for decades. SDI bought them out, and continued to make a massive amount of the gun in-house, regarding their M4/AR's, even securing a contract to provide M16A4's, I believe it was, to some military dept. of the US (I forget). Anyway, that all came crashing down when they got caught shipping guns in the false-bottoms of crates, as that will tend to do...doesn't mean they didn't make good guns though. They were also VERY personable people on the phone. I wish SDI could have not chosen to do that.
My rifles were 5.56NATO marked. I think on their SPR type guns they may have run the WYLD chamber, but I am not sure. |
| I cant upload pics at the moment, check out this link which shows a deac rifle with the exact same markings on the lower https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.deactivated-guns.co.uk%2Fimages%2Fuploads%2F15XR%2F15XR-011333_2.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.deactivated-guns.co.uk%2Fdeactivated-guns%2Fmodern-deactivated-guns%2Fdeactivated-rare-sdi-xr15-ar15-assault-rifle-with-full-working-action%2Fprod_2934.html&docid=lk5NLp7y1AeQlM&tbnid=Ui2ppGrDviEuaM%3A&vet=1&w=740&h=519&bih=466&biw=1094&ved=0ahUKEwjIgMzbn9HQAhVMC8AKHbGnDHUQMwhLKCMwIw&iact=mrc&uact=8 |
| I bought a Sabre SPR type upper, it came with a Samson handguard, stainless barrel, fluted, mid length gas system. The lower was a Bushmaster which had a CMC trigger in it. I replaced the Samson rail- it was one of the ones with flip up sight cutout....didn't care for it, with a BCM KMR. No idea how many rounds were on it when I bought it out of the Pawn shop......Gun shoots flat fucking lights out! It is a pretty easy MOA rifle with any decent ammo. It flirts with 3/4" with Black Hills reman. 75 grain......One of the best rifles I own. |

I wish someone would make lowers with logos similar to their logo, it was one of the coolest in the AR world. http://gunsmagazine.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/NewM428.jpg Quoted:

Send out guns that were not logged? |

Since this is a thunder cat thread: In October I found a good deal on Samson Star M FF Quad rails ( not that I really love quad rails, but they work great on piston AR's)
so I nabbed a couple of these not realizing that they had SDI markings. 99.00, not a bad dealAttached File |

I remember reading here when the ATF rolled in on them. What exactly did they do? Send out guns that were not logged? " In May of 2004, Savage received an email from a colleague that said, “The 100 barrels without chambers will be ready Mon. or Tues. if we can find someone dumb enough to sign the shipping documents we will send them to you.” The affidavit goes on to outline dozens of pages of similar conversations that occurred for years, all of which have played a part in the in the raid of Sabre Defence and the arrest of Savage. Savage, along with other executives, was named in a 21-count indictment earlier this year that alleged top Sabre executives conspired to intentionally violate the Arms Export Control Act by exporting firearm components without a license or written authorization since 2003. The group falsified shipping records, concealed firearms components in false bottoms of shipping cartons and mislabeled shipments to avoid scrutiny from customs and border control officers, according to the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee." |

So they were in on Fast and Furious? |
