No adjustable gas block but an adjustable bolt housing with a switch for "suppressor" mode.

Yes maybe I should because it says recoil is brought down when the bold carrier is in suppressed mode.

Gemtech suppressed bolt carrier

Could you elaborate on the "adjustable bolt housing with a switch"?  I hardly know all there is to know about all the options for gas control on an AR, so I'm just curious.  I have adjustable gas blocks and even a couple of adjustable gas keys.  I'd like to know more about your setup.  I'm guessing something like a Gemtech or such?  Is this really just a fancy name for something like an adjustable gas key that one can install on most BCG's?

Edit:  I see you just posted that it's a Gemtech.  Is the "switch" controlling the gas key or what?

Id say to try the H3, Im able to run one with my 10.3, 11.5 and 14.5 unsuppressed but I have no idea what the Gemtech bcg will do with it.  With an H3 and I assume you own a carbine buffer you can make an H1 or H2 if needed.

Tag, how the heck does a short barrel increase bcg speed?

higher port pressure due to short barrel(about 10k psi), = earlier/faster unlocking, with higher chamber pressure

plus the gas ports are usually oversized to deal with the wide range of pressure curves

I would've thought the longer barrel would have more pressure because more of the powder would burnt?

Thanks!

we don't get to play with sub 16" rifles
