My wife thinks I'm a few fries short of a happy meal.

ETA

I started the XM177E2 about two years before signing up here while still a lurker.

I did!!! Thank you! Just tagged you in the NSW Recce thread.

Is the NF painted yet? I'll be shocked if she made it through the weekend but will put bets down that she won't make it through another weekend without paint! Hahahaha

I’m sure some of you have seen it but PRI is having their Labor Day sale.  Going to pick up the FDE handguard and long bottom rail for the Mod H.  I’ve heard that PRI will go ahead and install the bottom rail if you ask.  Is this true?

I’ve been drooling over H’s for a while now. I’m trying so hard to not pull the trigger on a pri H upper.  Not sure I can make it through this sale.

Any reason to not buy a factory PRI H upper? Seems like a decent deal especially with a Douglas barrel.

I don't want to hurt the resale value.

BTW, I noticed some people mentioning the poop brown color of the SOPMOD stocks. This contract overrun stock looks more chocolate colored compared to my other SOPMOD and Bravo stocks.

Edit: I just figured out that it does look like my coyote brown issued boots... when they get soaked. Maybe they should call it wet coyote brown.

Gonna be a shame to paint this. My first step towards Mod H insanity. 80% lower is one of the PRI ones. Braceman is a freakin' artiste!
I'm one of the poor ARFers so this build will take the better part of a year.

Bump

Finally "finished" this thing today, got the full length bottom rail installed. The small screws were a pain to get out and had to use a bit of heat to break the Locktite.

(Please ignore the Vortex optic)

Great looking H’s in here!!! I am building a Mod H-ish. The AEM brake/collar setup I have the finish on the end 1/4” or so is a different shade. I’ve looked around at the pictures and seems like about half are this way. I hope to get some pics up sometime. Still waiting a few parts.

Would ARMS 22M rings be the right height with a Recce rail and Mk4 3.5-10x Leupy? Just trying to find the right height before pulling the trigger on some rings. Also looking at a NF Unimount as well as Badger.

badger works, 1.4", 20moa.

22m for recce rail. recce rail and 22m isnt cheap and more points of error.

Well just bought a new Badger mount from SWFA. They were having a pretty decent sale on them so I’ll give it a shot with and without the recce rail.

First 5 outta the BA tube. 200 yards. Nosler gray tips (whatever those are) over what I'm pretty sure was 24 grains of h335. Not weighing every charge. Just bulk plinking handloads.

And yet it doesn't shoot 77s worth a shit.

My BA doesn't seem to enjoy 77's either. 193 and 855 shoot just about as good as the IMI and Magtech I stock. Did a few tweaks to it a while back, but haven't been able to get back out and see what it does.

H335 for 55gr rocks.

try 23.2gr of 8208XBR for 75/77gr pills.
