Not a troll, merely trying to understand without having to read hundreds of pages.  Sorry if I offended guys.  Maybe the build fits nowhere "official."  I guess I am not up to yohr obscure, inscrutable standards which seem quite rigid in some respects and quite flexible in others.

Maybe this should be an exclusive, "by invitation only" private club.

Have you ever even stepped into any of the other clone threads?

There are literally now three pages to read, really just the top of the first one.  Yes the standards are rigid, but that's why there are Recce and SPR threads that are kind of a general show off threads, within the set limits.  Anyone can participate in this thread, but we do require you follow the rules; you don't show up to a baseball game and get offended when they tell you that your Formula 1 car isn't allowed onto the field.

If you're getting hurt by the level of hazing that you've seen so far, long hard road for you I feel.

If I did (and yes) I did not encounter such elitist hostility, sir.  Not a very good way to educate people about the attributes of the build form.  Sorry again for taxing the impatience of the group.  Inquisitiveness is not trolling.  Perhaps I can figure out on my own how much of the build is mandatory and how much is subject to user modification.  I wish I could thank you all for your help, but none was offered.

I did read page 1 and have no reading comprehension issues.

I have read all of your post and in not one post did you ask for help.  In the first you asked if it was a Holland or Recce, to which I responded Recce.  There is a clear list of what works on the first post, if you see a part that is similar but isn't that part and are wondering if the "kind of close" part will work it wont.

Now, lets not waste anymore energy on this, if you want specific help feel free to IM me, I'll do as much as I can to help.

Wheelman that's badass, I love how you took parts of your MOD 0 and make it into a Holland.

Please tell, is this relating to the Noveske barrels some rifles wore? I mean you have had relations with Noveske, yes? We've not seen much on the angle of why some rifles had Noveske and others apparently didn't.

Yea, that lower one is 10.5".  It started life as a Noveske 14.5" with the AEM5, but decided to go shorter, so now it's has an old SAS can to reduce length.  That damn can must weigh 2 pounds.

Awesome. I love it. I want Ace SOCOMs on all my guns now. No joke. It's comfortable, great cheek weld, awesome in the prone and standing. It really is a great, all around stock. They look goofy, but they grow on you.

That's exactly how I felt. When I first saw one I thought that was the ugliest, dumbest, most useless piece of crap I'd ever seen and who in their right mind would put one on a gun.... now I have 4. They grow on you for sure. I think because I like the Holland so much, I ended up loving the stock.

Bro, your fancy words don't negate the fact that you are completely oblivious to the meaning of this thread. You lost, your wrong. Delete that picture that looks nothing like any Holland ever and Charlie Mike on outta here until your willing to play by the rules.

They're so expensive though.  They better be good.

120-150 for the two we grabbed. and new.  thats pretty good.

I paid 125.00 and 165.00 for the gen 1's, 130.00 for the gen 2 and 100.00 for the gen 3 or 4 whichever it is. I'm fixing to pull the gen 2 and a gen 1 apart to make a rifle length gen 1.
I'll post pics of the two gen 1 sling swivels tonight. Take a look at them HB. I'm curious what you think about why they are a little different.

Ok, you little bastards won me over, I put a wanted ad up for an ACE (AKA the crutch, see pic below), if that doesn't pan out I'll go ACS. Daddy needs one, and what Daddy needs, Daddy gets.

I'm with you.  I had the socom on but took it off and put it on the block 2.  So far I'm liking the car on the H.

so far i have rocked:

A1: fine but not H approved

N1 CAR: looks tits. sucks for precision shots. lightest stock

ACS: feels good prone. heavy. long.

SOPMOD: great stock. kinda crappy prone.

ACE SOCOM: light, great for prone. wears out unless you make it fixed style.

CTR: good stock....didnt have it for the H. no issues. I wanna try one again.

Please explain. How does it wear out and how does it become "fixed". I was strongly considering buying a fourth gen soon. Same issues as first gen?

I think the play in aluminum parts, especially the "catch" that holds the stock in different positions, is prone to wear over time - to the point where the stock may actually collapse from one setting to the next with very little force on the buttpad. A screw/bolt of some kind in the stock can be used to wedge the stock in a setting, fixing it in place and largely removing the play in the assembly that inherently wears. Downside is, you've now lost the ability to quickly change LOP. Not sure if the later Gens have the same wear issues...

these notches blow through. you can already see it rolling over...and thats about 3 months use. terrible. the reason for the generation changes was to beef up this area. mine is the worn one. the other one is a new one i was machining. i went to lowes and got a pull-spring and clipped it to length and made it like a spacer. just swap the regular spring out for that one and tighten till the adjuster block clamps on the tube. its TIGHT now. i just did that before i ruined the tube.

Thank you for the pics and explanation, I see exactly what your talking about.  It's a wonder so many of the issued ones lasted for so long.

Werd.  I like things cheap.

My next precision shooting range session I'm gonna try the CAR.  But I may throw the rubber buttpad on there.  Seems like it transforms it and gives it more real estate for a rear bag.  And doesn't dig into the shoulder as much.  Although now that it's getting colder out, that's not that big of a deal.

The CAR looks cool. It's def light. But the SOCOM is super comfy IMHO, AAAND it's got that whole weird/obscure/hard to find thing going for it. #ObtainableUnobtainium

To me, the appeal of the Holland is not only its mysterious interwebz based history, but it's cobbled together look (that really works in its favor) and it seems like a solid, lighter, more versatile, not to mention updated, MK12 platform. After building mine, I'm glad I stuck it out and went with the SOCOM. It gives it that "no one knows what the fuck it is unless you're a MK12 Cloner" street cred. Plus, now that mine is done, the gun just works, I really love this setup for an SPR. It's everything I thought it would be; even for a cobbled together MK12 mutt.

This is the sole rifle keeping me from offloading the gen 2. Not sure about it, but it creates some daylight.

Switched some shit up on my Mod Juan. Now I just need a GI trigger guard and A2 grip. Either way, I never realized how much bigger the Mod Juan is compared to Buddy Holly. The H def has size and weight savings in its corner, that's fo'sho.

Nah, I'm good. I'm in the LaRue Mount Holland Clone Club. We gotta represent all the Holland facets; Recce rails, SPR mounts, SOCOM stocks, SOPMOD stocks, etc...
