I pared down my gun collection by about half a couple months ago using a local auction company. One of the rifles I let go was an AR15A2 clone that I put together around a used Colt A2 gov profile barrel. I got enough from it to cover 2/3 of my upgrade. All of my AR's have been home built mutts. A couple are mostly Colt. I bought a SP1 minus the lower receiver and put together a truck rifle. Way back CDNN was selling NOS A1 uppers without BC group and CH. These came with a NOS A1 buttstock assy and A1 grip. That one became my A1 clone. I never had picked up a new Colt though. Last week I saw a 6920 2013 version with some extras for $850 and I picked that up. It is still in the factory preservative. Amazing how that stuff is similar to cosmoline in some ways. The extras included a cleaning kit, Bushmaster 30rd mag, QD adapter with single point sling and a carry handle. I already have a Aimpoint Micro on a lower 1/3 cowitness MI QR mount. Going to have to clean this puppy out and go do some sighting in. 
If we have another panic after November one of the carbines I will part with is my home built M4 clone. Will not need it with a Colt in the house. |
