Considering going back to a free float Pic rail on my next build. I love Daniel Defense's rails but do not like the $300+ price tag. What are some other options that compete with Daniel Defense's weight and slimness?

So far my new build will have the following:

-PSA complete lower
-Magpul STR
-BCM Grip
-16" BA Hanson barrel

You are looking for a rail that competes with the Daniel Defense weight and slimness, but not price and quality?

LaRue makes a fantastic quad rail and they've been discounted for a while.

Used DD rail from the EE. Nothing beats a DD rail.

That's just silly, there are a lot of good quality rails out there.   DD has never been alone at the top.  Centurion, KAC, and Larue to name a few that you might consider.

I've seen all three of those for under $250 new recently and I'll agree the the Larue rails are a great value for their current price.

No one has mentioned Geissele.  Also Geissele's wife's company makes good rails too, can't think of the name right now.

That is a bit of a weird order...

Maybe an airsoft rail would fit the bill?

I switched back to quad rails for some of my builds after buying a Larue rail.   Solid mounting system and even with KAC rails it's thin.  I have a DD rail but it's a little wider than the Larue.  Solid rail but more $$$.

I really like the quad rail on my V5 but I'll have to say the URX 3.1 13.5" on my AAC is definitely my favorite.

If you want a true pic quad rail I recommend larue. Excellent product, excellent price.

For a free float handguard that is customizable there are countless options. M.I., BCM, alg, etc...
