Carbine length you will have it well inside the hand guard and none will show.

A 10" will cover most gas blocks on a middy rifle.  If you can afford to go longer I would the weight difference is not much and if you ever plan to attach a bi-pod it is nicer to get it further out on the rail.  I have a 15" FF rail on my primary AR which allows me to have a bi-pod attachment near the end of the rail and a handstop right behind it fairly far out on the rail.

Excellent. Thanks. I just put it together on Gunstuction and it may even look ok with a mid-gas barrel.

Not the KMR, but here is what a 10" Geissele handguard look like on a mid-length gas system barrel on the Jack Carbine.

As was said, you should have no problem covering the gas block on a carbine-length gas system barrel with a 10" BCM KMR.

I don't have a pic to put up but I have the BCM KMR 10" upper with the lightweight fluted barrel.

I love it.

So light.

I have an Aimpoint PRO and a TLR-1 installed on it.

Balances perfect.

I added a hand stop as an index so I don't accidentally place my hand too far forward.

I would have ordered a 13" KMR but they were out of stock at the time.

Love the 10", no regrets.
