We don't have a pic thread strictly for defensive rifles, so lets see them!

This will include home defense, vehicle defense (ie, trunk guns), and duty rifles. Basically any AR that fills the role of protecting you, should that time come, is fair game.

Lets limit this to rifles only (no pistols). Feel free to write a quick description on the specs of your build, as well as the ammo you have loaded up.

I'll start with mine:

Upper:

LMT 10.5
F1 .30 6" Ti suppressor
Geissele Mk2 rail
Surefire Mini Scout
Aimpoint T1/LT660
PA 3x magnifier (doesn't always stay on there)
KAC VFG
MBUS

Lower:

LMT Defender 2000 SBR
Geissele SSA-E
Because of cost, I have 62gr MSR Fusion in my mag

This was a trunk gun I had for a while. It was a KAC SR-15 E3 Mod 0 upper, Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4x20, and Anderson lower.

Home Defense SBR.

10" upper with suppressor, S2S trigger, Aimpoint M2, Surefire, LWRC UCIW stock kit, MOE+ grip, 40rd Pmag with 75gr TAP.

Truck/trunk gun.

12" Larue barrel, SOPMOD Stock, MBT, Weaver Tactical 2-10x36 FFP, H buffer, Damage Industries Enhanced spring, MI gen 3 MLOK rail, UTG Recon 360 bipod.  This one is more of a combination hunter/defense/mini SPR setup.

Correct--LaRue MkII. Love that case. I've used it for that KAC, my SBR (barely fits fully assembled), and an AMD-65. It' modular, rugged, and doesn't stand out as being a gun bag.

At the in home distances we have, the shadow really isn't an issue for target ID.

Why not ditch the carry handle, run a buis and mount the ACOG directly on the receiver? Not trying to be shitty just curious

It does make for a handy set up. And you have the irons all ready to go if your scope went tits up or is too much magnification.   Although admittedly, I think I'd do what you said with that scope.   Curious to see what he has to say.  I personally have always liked a higher mount than standard.  Most other guns don't have your face as jammed down on the stock as an AR does, to see down the sights.

I love that set up.  A lot.  I'm not sure my ears would like it, but probably every other way I would.  After trying a few different stocks, I've come to the conclusion an M4 stock is the most practical and comfortable stock to use for anything other than bench shooting.  If a precision gun, then give me an A1.

I will probably never build a clone or have the money too, but dang I sure like those CQBR's.
