I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm finishing up a lightweight high end build and trying to decide on a trigger, I currently have an ALG act and a Hiperfire EDT in my rifles. I obviously want something better. I'm trying to narrow it down and here are my choices. Geisselle SSA-E (which i am really leaning towards) Geisselle SSA and the timney skeletonized drop in at 4lb trigger weight. The rifle is going to be used as pretty much an all around rifle, mostly range though but i would still want it it to be shtf rifle like my others. thanks ahead of time.

Geiselle SSA-E is your answer.

I'm using an SSA but if you can wait a couple months the LaRue MBT is a steal at $125 and a damn good trigger to boot, from what I've read anyway.

My recommendation is based on my experience (SSA, SSA-E, DMR, ALG, HiperFire 24e, Wilson TTU, Timney, POF). If you are looking for a two-stage, go Geissele. If you are looking for a single-stage go Wilson Combat TTU. I have a Larue MBT on order so I am curious to see how it stacks up against the G triggers.

If you can wait, the LaRue MBT is a GREAT trigger for $125.  I have one and it's better than the SSA and G2S.  It's as good as the SSA-E.

MBT lead times will drop continuously from 8-10 weeks ARO down to 1-2 weeks ... over the next 32 weeks.

A couple of months from now, you will get an MBT in under 4 weeks.  Unless some of these saber rattlin' foreign countries flip our 'large order desk' a hard copy of a Rifle PO.  Then it's back to the calculatAR.

With owing both I would say that the SSA-E is not the best trigger for a tactical AR.  In fact Gessele says that.  It is a little too light.

The SSA is a better general purpose trigger.  Light enough to be effective but heavy enough to prevent premature firing when you get the juices flowing.

Even La Rue recognizes that because they ship two spring with their triggers nowadays.

I checked out the Larue mbt and two month is just too long for me, and i can't wrap my head around paying 75$ more for it quickly. Anyway I'm planning on running the rifle in a couple classes, nothing crazy, but i do want too be able to do those fast follow up shots. I appreciate all the feedback and i know this question has been asked before, i'm just having a hard time making a decision. It's between the ssa and the ssa-e.

Personally I would take an SSA-E over an SSA for most applications.

All new two stages will be MBT's for the foreseeable future.  At $125 they're a great trigger and I'm not willing to spend the extra for an SSA/SSA-E when the MBT is just as good.  I don't mind waiting though.
