I just installed an ALG ACT in a Bushmaster lower.  Issue I'm having is that the safety can not be engaged when the bolt is locked to the rear.  It only rotates about 45 degrees before it stops.  Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.  I've had similar issues with my QMS triggers as well, but they just required a little extra force to go to safe.  This one won't go at all.  Waiting to hear back from ALG.

Sounds to me like the issue could be with your lower itself or the selector. I've never had this issue with any of my ALG fire control groups. (ACT and QMS) and if you're having this issue with 2 separate ALG FCGs in the same lower, to me that points to either out of spec lower or selector

The issues with the QMS triggers were in different lowers.  The ACT is the only FCG that has given me issues in this particular lower.  I could try a different selector but it's a standard mil-spec selector, Stag I think.  I'm wondering if some people have this issue but just don't realize it because they haven't tried the safety with the bolt locked back.

I would try another selector then just to see what it does. And if it doesn't work with a second selector, I'd see about getting a replacement from ALG.

Email ALG .  That's a problem sometimes encountered with the ACT and other coated FCGs.  I stick to mil-spec or Geissele triggers.

It does seem to come up from time to time.  I guess I was hoping they had ironed out these issues.  It was purchased direct from ALG two weeks ago, so I guess not.  I have a spare Hiperfire EDT so I'll probably put that in.

Is the coating affecting tolerances and causing the selectors to bind?

I have the ACT in my AR pistol w/ a first gen anderson lower. I dont get to shoot it much but I am @ 500 rounds and no problem with the safety.

I went ahead and tried another selector out of my parts pin.  It still binds slightly, but it will at least go to safe now.  I guess it's good enough.  Chalking this up to a tolerance stacking issue.  Thanks for the replies.

Mine does the same thing.  Drags a little but still goes on safe.  I just make sure I put pressure on the safety lever to ensure it goes all the way up.  Mine only does it with the BCG back.  Not enough of an issue for me to worry about changing out.  David

Just got home and tried this on my one AR with an ACT.  Lower is a Tom Sawyer (DPMS I think), safety is a Stag, and no problems going on safe with the bolt back for my sample of one.

Go to Geissele Trigger Install Videos and watch the videos. He explains a COMMON alteration to the safety done with a DREMEL cut-off disc. There is a shoulder causing the binding that needs to be relieved.
