I wanted to save money on an h2 buffer. to make a long story short, I can make a solid .500" carbide rod to replace the three weights. it is short enough to where the weights still move around. will the new solid buffer weight cause any problems with the functionality of the buffer?

edit:
the rod measured only .01" longer with the rubber dividers than the 3 pcs with the rubber dividers

The internal weight needs to have some moving room. As long as it floats inside it should work fairly well.

ok. thanks for the reply. I'm going to weigh it tomorrow at work and see where its at with weight.
