Between those two choices, I'd keep my money. I feel ya. I'm not a huge fan of "new SIG" or Sig long guns, but we are talking ARs, so hopefully either would run. I have seen a couple 716s with issues though. But when I said significant, I meant significant. As in no-brainer. That's the whole purpose of the thread - I'm getting one of the two, the question is: Do I keep the SIG or sell it and buy/build something else. I'll go with the PM400 if I'm going to keep either one. If I'm going to sell, which one sells easier and at a higher price? (Both are the same $ out of my pocket) |

I have the opportunity to get one of these at a significant discount. Only one, and only sig as these two are what is in stock (in other words, please no "get XXX brand instead"). Options are get one of these two and keep it, or sell it on the secondary market and build/buy something else. Two guns in question: http://grabagun.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/500x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/S/i/Sig-Sauer-PM400-Spartan-PM400300B9SPART-798681525294.jpg.jpg http://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/catalog/product/SIG516-Patrol-large.jpg I already have a few non NFA ARs in 5.56 so the 516 seems redundant, but it has the higher MSRP (doesn't always translate to higher resale value). I do not own any AR pistols/SBRs or anything in 300 blk so the PM400 fills that niche. Not sure I would rather have that particular gun or if I would rather sell it and build a pistol or sbr from a BCM upper and xxx lower. I do reload so I can make 300 blk pretty easily. Current guns on my wish list are a Colt AR15A4, and a 300 blk SBR w/ suppressor. What say you? The advantage the pistol config has is. You can turn a pistol in to a rifle, not the other way round. Other plus to the pistol is. If you don't like the 300 blk, sell it and drop a 223 upper on . Win - Win. The down side to the rifle is No one is paying $1K for any USED AR, when parts kits allow a build for under $600, lower included. |

(Both are the same $ out of my pocket) I'd get the pistol for resale then because it's less common and it'd have less competition on the used market. The AR market is flooded and people want cheaper and cheaper stuff, at least with the pistol you have a better chance with higher end buyers. |
