I have a BCM Mod 0 comp that I got for free with my BCM upper and I noticed the interior cone and front portion of the comp have come loose from the rest of the device. The interior cone is still attached but I can wiggle it back and forth. Do you think they would replace it or should I just buy an A2 for $5 and replace it myself?

Of course they will make it right.

If its not worth your time, spend the $5.

Email BCM with a photo or two, I'm sure they'll replace it. Post the photos here too please.

It is loose at the "seam" at the front of the device.

They'll want to examine it. I'm sure they'll make it right, probably just trade it out. Send them an email, you'll know in the AM.

Looks like some erosion at the front of the ports, and maybe on the cone?

I think the port erosion is normal, and the cone is covered in carbon.

I don't remember the ports eroding like that on any of mine, but I could have easily over looked it.

I sent the bolt back to them that I bought 6-7 years ago, they sent me a new one with out asking any questions.

send it back they will take care of you

Well that's cute.

I'd have sent that back so fast it would cause a space-time paradox and arrive before they made it.

Also, A2s suck. I wouldn't go out of my way to put one on a gun. I spend most of my muzzle related work taking them off.

They'll trade it in for you. You might just have to pay shipping to them possibly.

They will hook it up, and include 20 stickers, a hat, and training DVD too!

They said they will replace it. I don't have the tools to remove it yet but I was about to order a knock off reaction rod for an upper build. I guess I'll have to wait until that comes to remove the comp.

A reaction rod is technically the wrong tool for the job.  I'm assuming you have a vice.

If so, either bought barrel blocks, or even homemade barrel blocks out of wood would be best.

Personally I've done them "improper" for years.  I've used a magazine vice block, an upper receiver block, and I've even used a pair or channellocks with a rag wrapped around the barrel.

It honestly shouldn't be that tight.  Even if it is, a set of barrel blocks would be best.

Gee thanks...

This country needs better morals. Do you even realize this is immoral and hurts everyone?

What was wrong with the bolt that it took 6-7 years to notice?

I'm pretty sure they have a lifetime warranty on their bolts?! Maybe it broke and it was under warranty?

Pretty sure a reaction rod is the correct tool for muzzle devices, and the incorrect tool to mount a barrel with.

Who is mounting a barrel?  What did people do before "reaction rods"??

I said lock the barrel in a vice via barrel blocks.  Which is the correct method.

I got the Botach reaction rod yesterday and removed the comp, and shipped it to BCM. I installed a DPMS A2 that I got for $6 so I can shoot it this weekend. The reaction rod worked great.

That's great.  It should have.  Pair of channelocks would have been fine too.  lol

It's actually incorrect for both of those jobs.
