Hi Guys,

as you see in these 2 photo, that piece of the spring is sticking out, so it is scratching the casing on ejection.

I had the gun for 7 years , shoot it regularly but first time noticed

Nothing seems out of alignment

What should I do ?

Use a dremel and shave the excess part or What ??

Snip it with wire cutters and call it a day.

I agree. That part of the wire is there to keep the spring in place so the port door functions properly. As long as there is enough "tail" to do that it should be fine.

Don't think the spring is scratching the case.
Probably more likely the brass is slightly hitting the deflector at the base.

LMT purposely enlarged the port, but yeah, like others have said go ahead and cut the extra spring out

That dent is from the brass deflector, not that piece of wire.

Beat me to it...

OP, the end of the spring that goes up against the upper isn't supposed to be that long, but trimming it with a wire cutter is all you need to do.  It really can't "hurt" your brass, but it will almost certainly hurt your fingers if you have to clear a stuck case.  Use a small wire cutter, the smaller the better, or you'll wind up with a lot of fumbling while you try to cut the thing.  Smaller cutters will also give you a cleaner cut.  Dremel?  No, don't use that.  It's way too easy to cut something you don't plan to using a power tool.
