I'm putting a lower together using and Anderson lower and PSA parts kit. However when I installed the  A2 grip the screw bottomed out and the grip was still not tight. It is ok to stack a could washers up or should I go another route to get the grip tight?

I had a problem w an a2 grip from palmetto once. Just replaced it w another from the parts bin and it was gtg. Only problem I've ever had w anything from PSA. pretty sure I can shave down one edge and it will fine.  Guess that doesn't really answer your question though.

Anderson doesn't tap  the PG screw hole all the way through, use a shorter Magpul screw it's what I did.

I feel like I have heard about this issue before..

I had the same issue. I wasn't sure if it was the Anderson lower or the PSA A2 grip. Anyway, I used 2 small washers to tighten mine up.

Yep, known issue as others have stated. Don't know why they do it this way but it is a bit of a pain in the butt.

I helped my BIL build a PSA Rifle kit using Anderson lower, we had the same problem.  We bought a shorter screw from hardware store, I thought this was a fluke but apparently not.

I recently received two Anderson lowers and the grip screw hole is drilled all the way through.  However, I can clearly see the hole isn't threaded all the way through.  Haven't assembled either yet, so have no idea if it's threaded far enough to  tighten the grip, but if not, I'll just tap the rest of the hole.

+1     I had a tap and threaded it the rest of the way but a shorter screw would have been simpler.

Bought 3 a couple of weeks ago.  None are threaded all the way through.  Ace hardware had a 1/4x28 tap for about $5.  They also had 1/4x28 thread, 3/4" socket cap screws for 50 cents.  I went with the tap as I like to use the replacement grip screws that have the trigger stop screw in them.  5 minutes.

Last 3 I have built were the same.
1/4" tap and it's good to go

This sort of shit is honestly how I've resisted the $39 Anderson lowers over the last year.

Mine is fine. Absolutely zero issues with it since 2013. It also doesn't have this problem with any of the 3 different PG screws I've used.

Had this problem last night with an Anderson lower.  60 seconds with the hack saw and I was right as rain.    1/4" off the screw was enough.

Take screw to hardware store and get one 1/3 rd less length with same threads and problem solved.  Will cost about .30 cents or less.

This is an easy fix. But you can also just tap it the rest of the way. I milled an 80 percenter the wasn't threaded for the PG screw and had to buy the tap, so luckily I already have it if I ever run into this issue.

Plus having taps around is always good anyways.
