How much torque should you use installing a Magpul pistol grip? Thanks.

Not specific to Magpul grips but it will give you an idea. > Link.

I have used 35 inch pounds on Magpul MOE grips with no issues. I also remove the Nylok patch on the Magpul supplied grip screws and use Loctite threadlocker 243.

There is no reason to torque grips with a tool. Tighten the screw until it seats and feels snug then turn it a little more until you feel a rise in resistance. You are probably talking more than an eighth but less than a quarter turn.

Just snug is good. the threads in the lower are just threaded aluminum, the star washer will keep it from backing off.

Oh and I forgot. I snug the screw, tap on the grip from the bottom, snug it, tap it, snug it, then do the rise in resistance thing.

No need to measure torque for PG. Just get her tight.

What others have said...no need to get scientific...just put her in reasonable tight and you are GTG.

FWIW when I install pistol grips I tighten the screw up hand tight, pretty snug, then give it 1/4 turn and call it a day. I hope this helps.

if you insist on using a torque wrench don't exceed 57 in-lbs.
