I've got typical ar15 dielema was hoping somebody here could give me some input.
I currently own an sbr and since I don't use my old 16 inch upper I am selling it which leaves me with two optics, a Ta31m150 and a RMR which I had mounted on the sbr . I love the acog so I plan on using it on the sbr as a primary optic . Should I mount the RMR on the Acog or use an angled mount ? I also was looking into a good full size do everything handgun (glock 34mos or 17) would the rmr Do well on either ? I have heard that red dots on handguns can be hit or miss. Or just ditch the rmr all together ? I also have larue quick release mounts for both so I suppose I could swap between either or sell the mount to fund other projects
Can't decide

Piggyback the RMR. An ACOG with a piggybacked RMR is a pretty damn effective setup for close to far, the whole spectrum.
I had a dot piggybacking my NSN and loved it, but I went back to the NSN BUIS for now until I can afford an RMR. Decided I didn't want to screw around with removing the site to change batteries and have to re-zero after a battery swap. If I had an RMR instead, it would still be piggybacking my NSN. And it will be once I can afford an RMR. |

From my own personal experience, I would stick with an offset mount vs mounting it on top of the Acog as the offset mount will give you the same check weld vs a fucked up chin weld. Using it on top was just too weird and uncomfortable for me.
Or use it on a pistol, depending on which model it is. I have an RM06 on a G19 and it makes it more accurate and funnier to shoot. |

Has anybody used the rm38 mount that can chime in ? I don't have the acog with the nubs for the rm35 I have the MS11 mount and it is damn well made. It's made by trijicon, but designed to piggyback a Docter. My NSN has the bosses for the half circle mount, which of course is a more solid mount - up by design. But the full ring Trijicon piggyback mounts are good to go as well, and will be just as high quality as my MS11. A little blue loctite on the threads and that sucker wont be going anywhere. |
