What makes you think the light is in the wrong side? If it's where it works best for you, then it's in the correct spot. Regardless of their politics, Troy makes good products, but I'd agree on getting a longer rail/FF system. Everything else looks good. I'm not sure. Ignorance I guess. The guys on the lights and lasers section go ape if the see a rig with the light on the wrong side lol. |

I would agree on a longer rail, especially considering where you like your VFG.
The light is fine on either side. Whatever works for you. I would rather have a shadow than not be able to activate my light at all because it was awkwardly positioned. OP, are you a lefty? |

If it's stupid and it works, it ain't stupid. |

Plus I thinks the platform is more stable the farther out I can get it. At least it feels like tgat to me. Also I've been doing a hybrid C clamp style grip where my thumb goes over the top of the rail but my fingers are still in the vfg. I think I like it. |

I think the barrel should be shorter.
Solves that light shadow issue, too Quoted:

Ok so I'm getting sorta close to where I want this to end up so I figured I'd see what you guys think. . I think the barrel should be shorter.
Solves that light shadow issue, too That thought, along with the supressor has crossed my mind ;) |

Yep, like the others said, you want a longer rail. That VFG says it all. Also, the optic mount makes me wince. Doesn't look like it would stand up to much. Otherwise looks great. Congrats! The fortis? You know I was, and still am concerned. I'm trying to balance wieght and sturdiness and reliability with this set up and I couldn't find a single review on the Fortis as far as drop testing and bend testing. But it's weight is next to nothing. I hate the fact that in the back of my mind I don't totally trust it. I mean, it could be just as strong as the LaRue. I just don't know. I might sell it and get the LaRue. |

I was trying to picture how you were activating the light with your thumb. Keep on doing what works for you man. |

Thats a pretty heavy stock for weight concerns IMO, I would run a BCM if you want a ninja one or just a basic 6POS and run a longer lighter handguard such as a ALG or the like. As others have said rock what works for you! Yeah I bought this when I didn't think battery concerns through. I was all worried about having back up batteries until someone was like, why the fuck would you carry them in your gun anyway when u could just add them to your load out? So I got thinking about it and I guess if for some reason I end up with just my gun it would be nice to have the battery storage but I'd probably run out if ammo before the batteries died lol. I actually have a regular battery less Magpul stock on my Saiga 12 that I could switch out. All if have to do is repaint it. |

It's not ideal if I want to just quickly touch the light end cap to turn it on for an instant so I just use the vfg normally in that case but just about all other times I turn it on and put my thumb back on top or don't turn it on at all. I just can't get over when my switch failed. I can't bring myself to rely on it again. |

I personally run them on the same side that you do and run a pressure switch. Keeps it away from me when rifle is slung so it doesn't beat me up. Some people run them on the left and activate with their thumb too. I've seen them mounted on top and underneath. Completely your preference. |
| I have that same Fortis F1 mount. The shorter absolute co-witness version. I stupidly left it leaning, barrel up, in the bed of the pickup by the open tailgate when i moved the truck into position to load my bike. It was obvious that it hit the driveway optic down because the elevation cap was cracked and fallen off and there was a nice ding in the aluminum ring around the front glass. It still held zero at the range later that day, but i replaced the optic for peice of mind. I also finally got a proper case for further peice of mind. |
