So I was helping in an NRA rifle basic course and I was demonstrating proper cleaning of my AR15 to the class.   Upon inspection I Notice the one of the gas rings was broken. So I replaced it when I got home. My question is should you just replace all three or just the broken one? About a quarter of it was broken off. No idea where it ended up but the rifle shoots fine.

They get replaced in sets.

I'd replace all 3, maybe keep the not broken ones for emergency spares or whatever. They're just so cheap that there's no reason not to.

This is what i'd do in any serious rifle.

I'm cheap and would just replace the broke one in a training gun

I would replace them all. I do that in mine when one wears. They're cheap and its good insurance.

Serious question, how often should they be replaced? I've got a little over 1000 rounds each in both my rifles. When I pul the bolts to wipe them down and relube the rings look fine.

I have some rifles that have over 10k rounds and I never replaced them and they have never broke before. This is the first time I have seen one break and the rifle is at about 800 rounds. But it is also a ice arms BCG I got back when they were an AR15com sponsor....
