I was talking to a gentleman from white oak armament the others day. We were discussing a barrel build in relationship to what gas system length I would need. I wanted to have a barrel made for an AR-15 chambered in 17 fireball. @ 20-22" finish length. He said the best would be an extended mid length gas system. It's between a mid and rifle length gas system. I have never heard of this.
Has any one used this system, I can't even find gas tubes for it. Maybe I misunderstood.
Help me out guys

Idk the specifics of the white oak extended mid, but it sounds similar to the 'intermediate' gas system length that Noveske and a few others use.  Noveske offers gas tubes for this length.  I have a Rainier 18" barrel with intermediate gas.  It shoots a lot like a 20" rifle len gas system.
