Good afternoon-
just noticing while waiting on my new upper to arrive that it has a pistol length gas system mentioned. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/barreled-upper-assemblies/psa-16-chf-300-aac-blackout-1-8-pistol-gas-13-m-lock-upper-no-bcg-or-charging-handle.html My current complete AR is also a PSA but I believe is standard carbine length system http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/firearms/rifles/palmetto-state-armory/psa-16-stainless-mid-length-1-7-moe-freedom-carbine.html now I'm starting to get worried that I made a mistake, is this an actual mismatch or a newbie misunderstanding? If a mismatch, is this something that easily remedied with a purchase from Brownells or similar? |

It's a .300 black out, it's going to be finicky with the cycling without running a suppressor. Most manufactures will make the barrel with a pistol gas system or enlarge the gas hole to help with this. even with supersonic ammo? I know there are issues with subsonic ammo and no suppressor. I'm not ready to purchase the suppressor this month just making sure I didn't make a major goof. I intend to do my Form 4 next month and avoid subsonic ammo until them. |
