I haven't bought or built since the Baracolypse of 2008 (when I coined that term). With the Colt nonsense, I thought I would pick something up and watch how the dust settles, so this is what I bought/ordered/added as a new primary carbine:
- Colt 6920 Magpul Edition - 2013 Configuration (MOE fore-end, grip, VFG, stock and rear BUIS) - Aimpoint Micro T2 - Aimpoint 3x Magnifier - LaRue Tactical QD Mounts (755 Absolute) - Surehttp://www.ar15.com/forums/manageTopic.html?b=3&f=118#fire X400 Ultra (Green) - Magpul MS3 Sling - 550 Paracord loops on MOE stock and front sling mount (because I didn't want to mess with a buffer tube accessory or pay $80 for two sling attachment points) How did I do? Missing anything? Suggestions? |

Mags. Ammo. Case? Way to mount surefire? You can get rail sections for the MOE Also, not sure how useful the laser will be to you. I think that laser is best for handguns but for really close range stuff it will probably get the job done. Sounds like a really good setup to me. |

Mags: USGI contract mags
Ammo: Lake City XM193 Case: Got a decent ballistic nylon Colt Carbine bag for $20 Light Mount: I made an inquiry with LaRue regarding a QD mount for the X400U but the rep said they don't make them. Anybody make a good mount? Incidentally, it's mounted underneath in front of the VFG. Tight squeeze but manageable and negates the need for a tape switch. |

I have a rail panel for each of the 3 sides, though I will be surprised if I mount anything else (other than a sling attachment point once I break down and spend) to the sides of the MOE. I agree, that the laser is better suited for HG, but that's the only light I have at the moment. |

What in God's green earth is a Barapocolypse?
Oooooh Barackolypse. Baracolypse. OK. I get it. I'm slow. Plus I read it a little wrong. Yeah, how about all this Colt crap. Grrrrrr..... Then I got an email saying the Feds are going to ban gun talk online. Grrrrr....... |

"Useless Laser" is a little strong for one of the best light/laser combos on the market, but you make a valid point. |
