Hey guys, so on April 27th my wife and I welcomed our first son into the world and when we got home and started adjusting I got to thinking about getting him something to commemorate him and this day.

The best thing I could think of is an AR Lower with a custom serial number.  I was thinking something like three letters and six numbers (ABC123456), essentially his initials and then his birthday.

Does anyone know of a company that can do this for me or a way to make this happen???  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Eric

Boy do I wish!!  I know I could learn how to, but I don't have the equipment or the experience at it.

Thanks. I actually had seen them and was hoping to get some personal recommendations from anyone who may be had done this before.  You can find anything on Google, doesn't mean it is always what it turns out to be. Hopefully this is.

Is ANYBODY making/selling a bad AR lower?

If the were, the stigma and shunning would be everlasting and widespread.

Well, there have been some polymer makers who have had a rough time of it. Some are still in business. MIght consider one of their lowers for the project, as the jig and drill make it easy. A lightweight .22 would be a great first rifle for a young child of 6 or 7.

You can engrave anything you want on a "80%" because there is no legal requirement to have anything on it. Otherwise, you have to finish it, you cannot rent someone else's tooling or programming by the latest interpretation. Lower + jig + bits and bit turner is going to run over $300.
