| If you're gonna Lone Wolf it, a true deployment ready kit would have an entry length upper with a red dot (eoTech, Aimpont). It would also have an 18"-20" DMR like upper with a quality scope that is no less than 4-22+X??. The DMR upper could ride in your backpack, remove pull two pins and your in business. You could do this with either 5.56 or 7.62, your choice. I like the choice of having two uppers for different scenarios. |

As I understand it, and that's not very well, given the capabilities of the 5.56mm cartridge, I'd want a 10.5" with an RDS and a 16" upper with a precision scope. Not sure 18" gets you much more and if I needed to go that far, I'd be using a 300WM or .338Lapua bolt gun anyway. So basically an SBR and a recce type. I think that would cover pretty much everything you'd encounter. Just my $0.02. |

Hatexoc your "kit" is what made me think of putting one together. I'm not a huge short ar fan, I owned an mk18 mod 1 clone and ended up selling it to fund my m4a1 block 2 clone which I prefer to it. Also I have an a4 clone but I don't think that's what I'm looking for as far as another upper for my kit. |
