I'm wanting to upgrade my trigger to a cmc flat bow.  Is the 3.5-4 pound trigger to light for an HD/SHTF gun or would a heavier trigger be better to put in?

You're going to get varying opinions on this, depending on how many replies you get.

Personally, I have a 3.5lb. curved CMC trigger on my main HD/SHTF rifle.

no way. 3.5 is just fine. shoot it enough to get a good feel and to know your weapon. after a few hundred rounds you will know exactly when it is going to break. CMC makes a great trigger. I have the 3.5 flat trigger myself

No. I like my 3.5 CMC flat.

Even in the winter with gloves you can still feel the trigger and fire exactly when you want to.

I've got the CMC curved, and the weight seems perfect for me.

Nope.  I've got 3 of them and I like the 3.5 CMC flat.

I've got the 3.5lb flat trigger in my sbr. As far as the weight goes I've gotten use to it (and know when its going off). Almost feels heavy sometimes, until I shoulder and fire my buds Tavor. Makes me love it that much more. I also have a geissle ssa in a 14.5 the cmc is noticeably lighter when compared side by side. But I digress, your finger will get use to it and know the limits before it fires. Just my thoughts, good luck and hope u enjoy!

Well I ordered one to drop in my 6.8 build that's for target/hunting to try it out.  I will order another for my hd rifle after I get to finger it.

1 or 2 stage?

I haven't messed with the 2 stage they have but I might get one in the future. They cost a bit more than the 1 stage triggers they offer.

I have the flat cmc trigger in my AR that I use for literally everything. I love that trigger, wouldn't go back to a milsoec trigger after using it.

Same here I love the flat bow CMC. I am of the opinion that if there is any deviation in the hole location in the lower, a trigger group that is in a frame like the CMC, Timney, and others tends to be more reliable. Since I make my own lowers some from scratch it gives me a bit more insurance.

I echo the other responders, the CMC is the best in my corral full of AR's.  The one thing I must remember when shooting the CMC rifles is the trigger is so much nicer than the others otherwise a second shot can go off unexpectedly.  All of my rifles are geared for plinking, target shooting and light hunting so having a nice trigger is imperative, but some are nicer than others.  Keeping costs down the ALG ACT trigger at $65 is a good alternative to GI.
