| To identify the barrel (or at least the chamber/twist), use a flashlight and look really hard through the holes in the rail, or just pull it off. I have to imagine that there are markings on that barrel somewhere. I can't really see a barrel leaving a manufacturer without any markings on it. |

It appears to be this handguards.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/15-inch-Free-Float-Aluminum-Handguard-Quad-Rail-System-extra-long-piece-/161234629445 As others said the barrel should be marked somewhere under the handguard. |

I inspected the barrel under the handguard several times with a high powered flashlight - no marks as far as I can see.
I thought it was the on off ebay, but there are 4 drilled holes on the muzzle end of the rail - and none of the ebay ones have those. I traded a project Glock with several upgrades. :D Thought it was about time I got an AR! Cheers! S. |

That Monstrum one looks about right - and I can order an end cap from them separately! Thank you!
The barrel is completely unmarked, like not even a logo or anything. Just the matte gray finish. And oh yeah - going to the range to verify/sight it in this weekend! Cheers! S. |

I'm very surprised to hear that the barrel has no markings of any kind. How on earth could a manufacturer let a barrel leave the factory without at least the most basic chamber and twist info stamped on it? Good luck at the range. Glad it wasn't sold to you as a 300 black out...because an unmarked barrel isn't something that I would want to "verify" at the range. |
| Not my area of expertise at all, but is this something a decent gunsmith can inspect and verify on the barrel for exact caliber and twist with some of their "magic" tools? Seems odd and perhaps some liability attached for a barrel manufacturer not to stamp the barrel with vital stats. Another question...when a heavy barrel is turned down and a critical stamping is removed in the process, don't they restamp the barrel? Never had any barrel work done...just curious. |

I've never had a barrel re-profiled either, but I imagine that any reputable shop would re-stamp the barrel for chamber and twist. Maybe an ADCO customer will chime in. I have to believe that a gunsmith would be able to verify chamber, not sure about twist. Twist might be "best guess" but I don't know for sure. |

Ah, i meant the sights - I don't know if its properly sighted in!
It's a 5.56 or .223 for sure, and based on the barrel profile, I am leaning towards 5.56 - but I want to verify. .223 is definitely safe to fire, so I can take it to the range to see how it runs. If a gunsmith can verify for sure, I'll get a hold of one locally - I wasn't sure if it was possible. I have seen a few posts on here and other forums where people would get completely unmarked barrels - don't know how they end up that way, but they do. Was hoping that someone might have seen a similar one somewhere. I'll look up the Mossberg ones to see if they made one of this finish and profile. Cheers! S. |
