I'm converting an older Colt AR15A3 Tactical Carbine into a coyote/predator rifle and would like to upgrade the trigger.

I have seen Timney and JARD aftermarket setups, and I could go the gunsmith route on the factory parts.

Are there any other options out there?

They don't make anything in the stupid .170 size Colt used for a while.

.154 is the normal trigger/hammer pin size.

Geissele does make Large Pin triggers... I have one.

Your bigger issue is whether or not you have the "Block" in your receiver.

I cut mine out.... and it was a royal pain in the ass, but being the stubborn man I am I finally got it out..... Colt used some tough steel in it.

Send it off to be milled out and save yourself a TON of grief and dremel time.... seriously.

Large Pin Geissele triggers... .... the last six.

I stand pleasantly corrected.

They are listed as out of stock but I will give them a call on Monday.  Thanks, I was under the impression they didn't make anything for the .170 pins.

This one doesn't have the block.  I do have one with the steel block and two with just the aluminum web.  Colt sure did some weird stuff.

I'm sure there's some online retailers that have them in stock.
Just snagged one (small pin) from a dealer in the EE last week. They have SCREAMIN DEALS

Thanks.

I'm stuck out if town at a Guard function, but I know the rifle doesn't have a sear block in it.  It was a LE gun setup as a marksman gun if some kind(had POI for different ranges written in the A1stock) and was camo painted.  I'm now wondering if someone else didn't remove the block already for an aftermarket trigger.

All of my other Colts have either the steel block or the extra material.  It doesn't have the holes for the steel block but it might have had the aluminum.

Of course it might never have had a block too.

I'd try calling that dealer soon. Not sure how much longer their sale is going on.. They could tell you if they have any large pin models available.

No answer. Crap, probably no one in the Internet sales dept on the weekends. Gotta head back to another briefing. I will try again later.
