I'm a quad rail guy at my core as well, but I like to mix it up. This Mk13 feels much better in the hand than my previous G rails (Mk4, Mk8) FWIW.

Dig it!  Yeah, me too, I still love my NSRs, have an SLR, and I think that Keymod G rail I have might become a collector's item, it is so rare

I might be the lone dissenter but I’ve never been able to get into the Gucci gear. Had a Trigger. Hated it. Fondled a Rail, said “meh”...

Give me a KAC or give me death. Or also Noveske NSR

I have two little boys, 2 years and 1 year old. I am using this time to try different stuff and figure out what works for me. If I find the holy G-rail , I will standardize so that my boys and I will all have completey interchangeable rifles.

Geisseles are insanely easy to install and the mk13 and mk14 are a good balance between weight and strength. The fragility/ keymod on the kmr is a negative but it’s weight is awesome. NSR feels good, but it’s keymod and kinda meh. KAC URX 4 is is probably my absolute fav so far even though installation is a lot of trial and error. KAC FF RAS is just classic and sexy.

Geissele MK16 might be gucci but it’s mil-spec now and if ever released for individual sale, It might become a staple on all mine. MLOK is superior to quad rail IMO due to shedding unnecessary weight and the fact that it doesn’t feel like the fat end of a baseball bat. Not bashing quads, just kinda fuddy these days.

The more I think about it I cannot figure out why there aren't more single piece receivers. The idea just makes sense. Ease of installation; it's 2 cross bolts. I mean, come on. It's stronger, it's probably extremely accurate. If LMT or KAC made a modular MRE type upper receiver, one solid piece with a carbine length m-lok that extended beyond the sight post at 3 and 9 o clock, they would make a killing. Include a filler attachment for the 12 and 6 o clock to make a mid-length rail if users don't have sight posts and/or an assortment of attachments to go out even further for all kinds of applications. I probably should have kept that idea to myself

LMT owns the IP for monolithic uppers. Mega used to make them years back till LMT came after them.

The MRP platform is awesome and I'm often tempted to get back in. My biggest gripe is the lack of aftermarket support. Outside of LMT and Marvin Pitts you don't have many options for barrels.

I used to think that way about the lack of aftermarket barrels as well but honestly the chrome lined barrels are tack drivers and the SS are Mike Rock barrels. They are absolute hammers. Therefore I don't need to convert anyone else's barrel, for me it's a moot point.

I snagged an SU-237/PVS on the EE for the 14.5, which is what made this build- when I had to find a new home for the Leupold and I started browsing through this thread.

Thanks for the kind words!

Ive shown my 300aac 10.5 mini recce in here.  I decided I wanted to put together a purpose build mini.  I bought a 12.5 middy Triarc barrel off the EE yesterday.  I also picked up a 9.5 DDC G mk14 and a Surefire Closed Tine Warcomp for it.  So I should have all the parts next week.  I have a Luepy mk6 1-6 sitting in the safe that will top it.  I'm looking forward to it.

Nice! I always wondered what the 9.5" would look like paired with a mid length gas system. The verdict: Not bad at all.
How is the balance?

I wasnt sure how it would turn out either. I may swap the LMT PDW stock for a normal sopmod.  With just building it last night and minmal handling seems somewhat balanced now, but not so sure once my form 4 clears for my socom rc.

@RTUtah @cmcflex is correct It's LMT's PDW SOPMOD.  I did a write up comparing it to the LWRCI Utra Compact, and the regular sopmod on here a year or 2 ago.

Especially when the LWRC is only $130, and they occasionally go on sale for ~$100.

Okay so I am going to change some things up on my mini.  It’s a pinned spikes R2 brake on a 14.5 Faxon gunner Barrel. Scope is a 1-8 vortex.  My issue mainly stems from the concussion of the brake.  I shoot prone mainly.

I am wondering if o should change the
Brake
Or brake and barrel.

Suggestions for a brake or even Flash hider
Possibly a new barrel.

I've always liked the way a B.E. Meyers with a 13.7 inch looks. I don't know from personal experience, but from what I've heard, the 249F is one of the best flash hiders you can get.
