It took better than 6 months to get all the parts piece by piece & finish this gun but its done now & man is it a shooter. Pretty happy with the whole package.

| Looks very solid. The MEGA GTR-3H ambi-receiver set is my favorite receiver combo to date and I have a build very close to what you've done sans the suppressor. What I find this receiver needs however is a Seekins Enhanced bolt catch though. The upper receiver cut is wide and deep (which I like) but I find a standard bolt catch to be less easier to operate than the enlarged Seekins one. YMMV. Either way, what a fine rifle... |

Thanks Guys, she sure shoots nice, easy to ring the steel at 350 the day I sighted it in.
Yea on the scope, I really like it but I had a PA red dot on it until the scope came in & I really noticed the weight, something I'll have to get used to, but yes its heavy comming from a red dot. |

What is so heavy about this rifle other than the 30mm scope? Is it a heavy profile barrel? Are mega uppers/lower really that heavy? The UBR is heavier than the average stock but I assume that is to help it balance with the can?
I think the balance is much more important than the overall weight. |

Using quality parts decreases cussing, anger, thrown items and all other "not in front of the kids" quotes!!
Nice Stick Question...did the handguard require any "fitting" with the MEGA Billet upper??? (I haven't used this combo yet but know some handguards with TABS didn't get along with MEGA Billet uppers) |

Thanks guys, the KMR was a tight fit but it fit, no real fitting required. I have noticed that the finish on the KMR is not as tuff as I had hopped.
The UBR really balances the gun, with the heavy barrel & scope; it’s really surprising how with that stock the weight really disappears in the balance. Why 223 Wylde? Why not, wanted to be able to shoot anything in a pinch but also wanted to hand load a very accurate load. I'll get some 100 yard groups when I get back in town. She was not cheap, but I had build 5 other AR's on the cheap & took over 6 months to slowly get the parts I wanted, so it was all about what I thought would be the best part for the build. I think the JP BCG & silent capture suprised me the most, that freaking bolt runs so smooth & the silent capture just helps it & no twang from a buffer spring. Smooth as glass. |
