I am looking at getting the mid length for an sbr build. Anyone have any experience or opinions on them.

I think the monolithic upper concept is like shooting yourself in the foot before going for a run. They certainly can be "cool", but I value modularity and the ability to swap rails and components over nailing myself down to one monolithic upper.

YMMV.

My feelings as well, kinda goes against what is so incredible about the AR platform. YMMV

Yes that is it. I get you point about the monolithic uppers but I like that this one is customizable and different is why I am looking at it.

I also have a variety of upped so figured I might try something different.

I'll go against the grain in this thread and say I love monolithic uppers.  Especially my LMT MRPs.  Ive got a 6.8 barrel and bolt I plan on putting on a midlength Aero COP upper for hunting.

Part of the modular aspect of the AR is also being able to just swap complete uppers.

I'd personally rather have multiple uppers with different setups than keep having to replace things on a single upper.

Not a midlength, but still a COP.
