Just a "wondering why" question.
The older Colt collapsing N1 type stock has a sling loop molded on the top rear of the stock.
This made it easy to attach a sling for use with the side sling swivel on the barrel.  This allowed carrying the slung rifle at your side so it wouldn't flip over.

The new Colt stock has no top sling mount and you have to use various methods of attaching the sling to get a top mount.

I was just wondering why Colt didn't use the popular top loop on the new stocks.
