| Hi guys, new to posting, but been reading here for a while. I got my Colt 6920 today, and noticed in the user manual it says to use .223 and doesn't mention 5.56 anywhere. 5.56 is stamped on the lower and on the barrel but I was just wanting to make sure that it is ok to use? This is my first AR. |

You can dry fire as long as the upper and lower are assembled and the BCG is in, otherwise, don't do it... Quoted:

Just a question, is it ok to dry fire this fire arm? This. DO NOT drop hammer against the frame of the lower. |

This is my first AR. You can fire 5.56 or .223 through your 6920 since it has a 5.56 chamber. Enjoy. You've made a fine purchase. |
