Just removed my A2 flash hider and crush washer.  Crush washer was crushed alright.  Was stuck, and I ended up spinning it off with a pipe wrench.
I don't have a fresh crush washer but do have a peel washer.  Simple right?

The peel washer separated into about 12 washers after hitting it with heat.  All 12 pieces do not fill the space from the barrel shoulder to the A2 bottomed out...

Question:
Can I add 'leftover' peel washers from another project?  I had 4 pieces and the addition at least allows the A2 to contact the washers now.  Hand tight.

Problems with the additional washers, or should I just order another crush washer.

Thanks!

Get a new crush washer.  Costs about $2 bucks and will look a lot cleaner than a stack of peel washers.

You can add the extra peel washer segments.

Thanks for your insights!
Looks is not high on my list, Scuds03, but I agree, it would be cleaner install.  My Griffin comp wears about 8 peel washers.
Medic, thanks for posting.  I was worried I might have a safety issue with too many pieces.  I'm inclined to use it if I can get 15# torque on it.

This is not a pressing, time sensitive problem.  Just stripping down an upper for a new rail that arrives tomorrow.

If the peel washer segments by themselves aren't enough,

is there any reason you can't just use a suitable sized hardened steel washer

and then add the necessary washer segments to get the thickness you require?

Sure.  Heck if you have time, you can get a kit that has washers in different thicknesses.   Those are just washers (They don't crush or peel.)

It's just not spec, but not at all dangerous.   You just don't want the muzzle device to fall off.

Dont forget before crush or peel on the A1 there was a lock washer behind the hider.

True, but you don't have to "time" the A1 FH. Many FH don't need to be timed, but some do hence the peel or crush washer.
