Not sure if this should be posted here but I have a Spikes 16" Carbine with a MI Gen II handgard and a VTAC sling but the front part of the sling connects to the bottom loop below the FSB and it cant's the weapon outward so since the handgard has a hole to put the sling to the side with a QD Swivel but now I see there is a QD Swivel that's attached to a mount that attaches to a rail and allows you to position it anywhere on the rail so I have to ask which is a better choice

Depends on where you want the sling, if the rail's location is fine, use that, if you'd rather move it somewhere else, then do that instead. It's all user preference.

For a 2 point sling i like both ends as far from eachother on the gun as possible, meaning the sling attaches to the farthest QD cup on the rail and the very end of the buttstock if possible, but thats just me.

Right now that's pretty much where it's at and if I get a QD swivel it will put it on the side in the hole provided in the rail it won't cant outward I was just curious if having an option to move it anywhere on the rail was a benefit but as stated I guess it's personal preference so maybe I can somehow attach it closer in to get a feel for it to see if I like it.
