For those of you who own a Daniel Defense rifle, do any of you run an "aftermarket" buffer aside from the H? I was interested in the Spikes T2 and was wondering if anyone had cycling issues  or have recommendations on anything aside from the H buffer? Any upside/downside to straying from the stock H-buffer? Thanks
I have a complete DDM4v5 (16" middy) with a spikes NiB BCG and some magpul flare but I believe all versions run the H buffer.

High speed video shows the spikes powder tugsten buffers do not do as well of a job "buffering" then standard buffers.

Try a h2 if you want. Or buy an h3 and with your current h you can mix and match weights to your beards desire.

I've tried the ST-T2 and it does nothing that a H2 won't do. Don't waste your money and keep running your H.

Cool, thank you all for your input. I'll keep it the way it is for now and buy more ammo. If it's not broken, don't fix it, right? I just didn't know if there were any advantages of running a different buffer in it.

Sprinco blue spring with H2 buffer.

You will notice a difference for sure.

Smooth as butter in a DD 16" middy.

In what ways?

It will yield a softer/smoother shooting rifle.

I've switched factory springs and H buffers for Sprinco blue springs and H2 buffers in several different factory DD 16" and 14.5" mid rifles. There is a difference.

Good/bad/indifferent?

Smoothed the recoil impulse out.

It's smoother than other H/H2's I've tried.

It's a similar feel to switching from a carbine length system to a middy

Would it matter if the rifle is only used mainly for range bench rest shooting, self defense and not under full auto ( I live in the wonderful, gun loving state of CA)?

The rifle I have one is isn't full auto. It will still smooth it out.

It just isn't going to make a difference with carrier bounce.
