I've finish my build and decided I really don't like how the stock looks with the overall build. It's the cheap 6 position stock that comes with all the build kits. Not that it's bad and works just fine. It's just  that I feel a different stock will feel and look better.
I have it narrowed down to 2 stocks. I like the look of them both even though they don't look anything alike. They both have the cheek weld that I'm looking for but weight a little to a lot.
Stock #1: Mission First Tactical Minimalist Stock
Stock #2: Rock River Arms Operator Stock

My question is will a lighter or heavier stock make a difference in the shooting feel of my gun? It's a 16" SS barrel, mid length gas, 13.5" Diamondhead grip so it's a bit front heavy. Would it be better to put the heaver stock to counter balance the heavy front? The gun weighs in at 7.7lbs now.
Thanks for any input. Especially from anyone who has these stocks.

Yes the stock makes a difference.  A heavier stock can make a rifle that is front heavy feel lighter in the hands by balancing the weight on each hand.

I have a 20'' bull barrel that I have a Emod stock filled with lead weights on because it feels lighter with the weights.  A stock with a storage area may help if you needed to add weight to the rear.

I have a couple of the minimalist stocks and really like them. But, I also have a couple Magpul ACS stocks.....when you snap the lock down on one of those and there is zero slop whatsoever, that takes things to a whole new level. Try one of those before you rule it out compared to the RRA stock.

I have an HBAR profile barrel w/ a rifle length URX ii, which made for a front heavy rifle. I balanced it with a UBR, and it was a game changer for balancing it.

I like slightly heavier stocks because they feel more balanced to me - sopmod/Imod/emod, but not ridiculous heavy  like the prs. Overall weight is not as important as balance. Ymmv

Ask yourself this question:  Where do you want the balance point to be on your rifle, as compared to where it is now?

If you want the balance point more forward, then go with a lighter stock.  If you want it more to the rear of its present point of balance, add weight by using a heavier stock.

While I like light, and light can be better, especially if you carry the rifle regularly, being out of balance when handling the rifle can be just as much of a problem.

I like the point of balance to be toward the middle of the receiver, so it is forward of my pistol grip and a bit behind the centerline of the magazine.   Others might like it different.   Find your most comfortable balance point with your typical loaded magazine and your optic of choice in place and figure out which way you need to go.  How far you extend your adjustable stock affects this, so set it where you intend to have it when you mount and aim the rifle.

For me, even though I have a 16" carbine barrel, and run a fairly light Daniel Defense MFR 12.0 free float rail, the best stock for cheek weld, balance and versatility turned out to be the Magpul ACS.  It is not one of the lightest stocks, nor is one of the heaviest, but it weighs a bit more than the standard carbine stock - it weighs 18 ounces.   It has the benefit of storage tubes and compartment and has a cheek weld that is praised by many here, for good reason.

B5 Sopmod Bravo.

I can tell why Rainier and BCM (Jack Carbine with Haley Strategic) chose it.

Light weight, rugged, cheaper than many, simple, etc. I didn't originally pick it, just happened into them. Bought another since and would love to replace a Magpul MOE in the future.

If you NEED the battery space for reals, I guess you need the normal Sopmod.
