AR 15 Trigger recommendations.
I'm looking to replace my Colt 6920 AR15 Trigger group with an aftermarket precision trigger group. I have 4 choices and I would like advice on the best to buy.
Any pro/con experience would help me make the best choice.
1. Timney
2. Hypertouch
3. Geissele
4. American Trigger Corp.(Gold)
thanks in advance

Chip McCormick (CMC) drop-in triggers!

I have Geissele, Timney, and CMC's in my various AR rifles.  All are great triggers.  CMCs are less $.  Super easy to put in.  The 3.5# tested at 3.4#. Over 2K rds and going strong.

Honestly, you can't go wrong w/ any of the 3, but if you want o save a few bucks, check out the CMC.

Did you go single stage or double and what do you use your AR mostly for?

This...trigger selection is predicated on intended use.

For a tactical rifle I like 2 stage triggers, the Geissele SSA or even G2S for a few $$ less are triggers you can count on. They are light enough for precision use, too.
For a bench rifle like my 24" heavy barreled AR the Timney 3 lb. is my choice; too light for a tactical rifle IMHO.

I recently picked up a POF single stage 4.5 lb. trigger. It could be the ticket for someone who prefers a single stage in their tactical rifle, Timney makes one too (4 lb.). It was an experiment that I'll probably sell off and replace with another G2S. I'd prefer to have all my "battle rifle" triggers feel the same.

I own a Geissele SSA and a Geissele high speed. I have used Rock River Arms two stages and Geissele SSA-Es on borrowed rifles.

The SSA in my opinion beats the RRA that I tried on feel. It feels more crisp. I think a long run search of AR15.com will tell you all you need to know about reliability. The SSA reminds me somewhat of a very well tuned Garand trigger. It is heavy enough for use in an adrenaline fueled environment, but pretty smooth with a good break.

The SSA-E was lighter and felt more like a match trigger than the SSA.

My Geissele high speed is the absolute pinnacle of two stage triggers. I cannot imagine a better two stage, period.

If you like two stage triggers, go Geissele. If you don't like two stage triggers, don't go Geissele. It is that simple.

On a colt 6920 I would replace with an ALG.  A 6920 is not going to be a precision shooter.  It is however a great, dependable shtf model.  I would not spend a ton of money for an outstanding trigger for a gun that is not a precision shooter.

I can tell you having owned ALG's, geiselle's and AR Gold triggers, the AR gold has the absolute best trigger pull of anything I have shot.  My geiselle 3.5# is a shade behind it.  I will continue to patronize geiselle for many reasons.

But again unless you are rebarreling the 6920 I would stick with a really smooth dependable GI trigger.  Which is the ALG.

After just looking at the hipertouch, I know that thing is not for me.  I read reviews that were not kind from 2011.  WALDT but I would not mess with any trigger that is all rigged up with springs like that, more to go wrong.  It may be a great trigger, I will simply never know.

If you are bound and determined to put a precision trigger on a GI rifle go with the AR Gold or Geisellle.  My opinions only, free advice is worth what you pay for it.

Edit: I have a buddy that has a Jard, after disassembly all I can say is not for me.  Others may have opinions.
