I have a couple of questions concerning charging handles.
1. Does anyone how the Ranier Arms charging handle compare in size to the type 3 Gunfighter charging handle? 2. Does anyone know of an aftermarket charging handle that is compatible with an Armalite AR 10 .308? Thanks |

I do not have any info on the Rainer charging handle but I do about the BCM Gunfighter.
Get the BCM Gunfighter. If you are gonna spend that much cash get the CH that takes the stress off that small weak roll pin. The BCM locking tab engages the rear part or body of the CH in a way that removes the stress from the roll pin. The medium size is large enough and you can slap it hard with the non-firing hand and it will take it (and stay out of the way). I do not know of any other CH that it made to remove stress from the roll pin (I have seen them broken. I don't know how but they were busted) |

Seems like most people are running the BCM Gunfighter (I use the Large Mod 3), or pay twice as much and use the Raptor. Just depend on application, if you shoot lefty, wear gloves etc. My next build I am going to run the Fortis Hammer just to give it a try. Both the Raptor and BCM make AR-10 applications as well!

Here's a pretty good comparison of the different sizes. <a href="http://http://i1049.photobucket.com/albums/s398/delicious66/ChargingHandles_zpsab9d851a.jpg</a> Is that any early prototype version of the Raptor??? I've never seen one without the holes on each side. Usually they have a skeletal look to them but this one appears solid all the way through... |

I use one on and enjoy it. |

| I just installed the large Gunfighter on my DPMS and really like it. I want put something on my Colt. Kind of want to know if the Raptor is that much better for the cost. Neither my wife or I are left handed so ambi not a big deal. I also want to add something to my Armalite AR 10 and notice some listed for .308 say it is not for Armalites. |
| I have BCMs on all my rifles except 2 clones, and I recently got a reaper33 with the Raptor already installed. Its a sweet piece and functions exactly how I would want it too, but Im not a lefty and Im skepticle of paying more for anything than I have to. IMHO if you want ambi or are a lefty, the Raptor is the way to go, However if neither of those are a requirement for you just save the money and get a BCM. |

I don't often make these kinds of wild statements, but it's the best freaking charging handle I've ever used - and I have a skeletonized one. But I really really really want one without the skeletonization - though it's just for aesthetic reasons at this point. Wish they had or would make a run with the solid handles. ~Augee |
