Hello to all,

Just found out about these rifles that they claim to have a special coating that requires no oil to operate. Anyone have one in your battery or have at least heard of these guys and they're rifles quality along with that special fancy coating that claims to reduct friction by 85% or something like that.

From what little I read all one needs is basically just soap and water to clean the major components!!!! No oil top lube anything at all. Is this all just bull or is the coating really that good???

Thanks,

Impala

I've run some of my AR-15 rifles bone dry and without cleaning with no problems.  Can't say I recommend, it but the platform will tolerate it.

They had a big banner over their booth at SHOT that said something like "the worlds only no lube AR15". I kind of chuckled but that is what they are advertising.

Sure, if the Technology is proven.  the OPs question is valid. Is this just snake oil or does it work?

I would like to here from someone that has one and try to use it a advertised.

What they advertise is not a coating. It's a process/material they add during the manufacturing process. Research RF85. It's not something they invented. A similar process (whatever) has been used in other industries (like ring and pinion for cars/trucks) for some time.

In other news: I googled them awhile back and found there shill thread here. Basically, they came here pretending to be satisfied customers in an effort to drum up free business.

Full disclosure: I own one of their rifles. I use a lite coat of clp. Shot 500rds with no oil and no issues. Had one issue with gas rings at about 800rds. Not sure why. IMO, just get a colt or buy their stripped lowers and build.

The company is located about 15 minutes from where I live, I have a few friends that work for them.

The owners a complete asshat, cares nothing about putting out a good product and just wants to sell. I bought a stripped lower off them and it was cracked when I opened the package but they refused to do anything about it. They also treat their employees like shit. That being said if I ever come across a sale on their stripped lowers for less than 50 dollars again I'll probably still buy one or two.

As for their rifles, I think they're over priced for what they are. The RF85 coating may be good to go, but I'm not going to take the word of this company on it.

JFTR, "self-lubricating" and "oil-free" were advertised features of the original M16 when it was first introduced, ultimately contributing to the eventual reliability problems experienced in Vietnam.  Oil it, regardless of what 'they' say it needs.

I've bought a lot of parts from Anderson with zero issues.  Their complete rifles seem over priced, but I've never shot one.

Yep I came here to say this. New decade, same lies.

Edit: Having said that, I do buy their stripped uppers and lowers to build with.

OP has 500+ posts so I can't tell if he's just trolling or is serious.

Even if it says it can be run dry, I would always keep my firearms slick.
