You have created exactly what I plan to build after I finish my latest clone.  Well done

Well I finally installed a colt upper in place of the bcm on my cqbr.

all is said and done, Clone correct, except my sbr lower.

i have an m4 carbine lower laying around but I have 2 pending stamps already 11 months in without hope of seeing them this year.

stamp the lower and wait or just sell it?
what u guys think?

It bothers me slightly not having a colt lower after building this thing into what it is but that lower sitting in the safe going unused for at least another 6 months will bother me more....

Yeah, I just put in a backorder for one of those as well; had to have something slightly more accurate for the CQBR. Damn you, clone voices... stop making me buy shit :\.

Sweet rifle, pic looks awesome.

Another Canadian here who's had to resort to the Surefire Training Suppressor because the real deal is a no-no here :(

If you're in the USA, you can order the Surefire Training Suppressor from Midwayusa and other places.

If you live in Kanadastan with us, then a few companies like irunguns.com can bring them in for us.

need your guys opinion. would trading a BNIB KAC ff carbine ras for a tanodized g33 be a fair trade? or is that lopsided in one direction?

Not sure man, arfcom taught me that paint is the great equalizer for colors and finishes and easily practiced... but you cant paint your way into a FF RAS. For what its worth, I have a KAC FF RAS that took me forever to source and I think I got a good deal on it. Its been on 2 or 3 different builds and I don't think I will ever part with it.

Lol I'm glad you clarified that. The lack of the hole or QD socket in the SOPMOD, and the lack of an upper receiver forge mark made me start wondering if it was airsoft

Nice. Just got an SCH and it's very nice, albeit not "correct".

ETA,

Been a lot of talk about risers lately, of you can't fine or don't feel like shelling out the cash for the Wilcox setup, a less complete, but good alternative is the LaRue. Just put one under my 551.  Good product, would line up well with an XPS as well.

Have a DD 1.5 FSP for that upper but I think I'm going to switch to the KAC for this too, maybe even a micro if that's easier.

And back on track

The SSA is considered the standard, but the SSA-E is popular along with the S3G. I prefer the S3G.

As issued front sights? KAC 99051 black or taupe. Seen in the wild? I've seen some Troy front sights and some MBUS rears. There are probably others, but that's what comes to mind.

Primary Arms and Brownells has Giessele stuff on sale as well. Without doing any searching, I'd wager Brownells will be hard to beat at $159 for an SSA/SSA-E/S3G with codes and AJ discount ($149 if you're not already an AJ member and get invited).

Sent ya an email with an AJ invite for $10 cash back for joining and then the regular 4% off (sometimes it's 8%). Also sent the coupon code for $20 off $200 with Brownells (H7L). If anyone else needs an invite let me know.

Picked up a RRA dominator 2 mount to try on my mk18 with an eotech 512. Not clone correct, but let's me rock my retro eotech on my mk18 mod 0 in a lower 1/3 and fixed rear with all the weight of that early GWOT carbine action. Still need to paint it to match the block 1.5 build. Risers are in vogue and I'm on that shit like a basic B on t-swift and pumpkin spice right about now.

Got some more range time to work out the cycling kinks. H2 buffer initially and replaced with carbine buffers I had and worked perfect. Will bump to H buffers to reduce wear and tear.

Nice pair of guns. An Eotech on a Mod 0 looks pretty damn spiffy. Almost makes me want to swap my Aimpoint M3 for an EXPS3.
