This is the final part needing purchased in my revamp on my recce upper. It is going on a 14.5 barrel so it needs to be of the appropriate length to bring me legal. Cheaper is obviously better but I am willing to pay for what I need. Have been looking for more of a comp then a dedicated FH but I would like some bit of flash dispersion. Although I don't have plans in the near future for a can, having the QD option would be a nice added benefit if I ever decide otherwise. I have considered a Battle Comp 1.5, also kind of looking at the M4SD-II but my options are fairly open at this point.

Any other recommendations, or experience?

I run an M4SD-II on a 16" and it reduces the flash signature pretty well for a compensator. I'd recommend it but I've never used a Battlecomp.

Yeah my brother has the M4SD-I(I think) on his 14.5 and it too seemed to work pretty well in both. I just didn't know what my other options were since I haven't had to buy one for a while.

The Battlecomp is way overpriced..I drank the kool-aid and was very disappointed. .

A simple A2X from BCM is what I used. If you're thinking about a muzzle device for use with a can you need to pick which can you want then go from there.

The can is an afterthought. Would be way down the road, if I even get one.

I know a lot of people hate the battle comp but I'm quite pleased with mine.

I shot my BCM comp back to back with an AR with a brake today, and they felt the same in recoil/muzzle control with the BCM controlling way more flash.

ETA: Both guns were mid length.

When I got my sei vortex it stated on the instructions that it can add the 1.5 inches to make a 14.5 legal.

Bump, any other opinions?

Ive been running a battle comp on a few of my rifles. I've been happy with it. The only break I have liked more than the BC is the KAC MAMS. YMMV

I would review Andrew's research, starting with this link

Every device is a compromise, pick your poison.

I run a surefire MB556K and I love it, recoil and muzzle rise is virtually non-exsistant.

It is as loud as can be and expensive, but works great.

I run these on a couple of my rifles

A little loud if you are standing off to the sides but they work pretty good.

I had a XTC for a while but sold it. The noise didn't bother me too much but the concussion sure did.
