[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Kryptek AR Pic Thread. (Page 1 of 2)

I figured since there is an FDE pic thread here, a black AR pic thread, a Burn Bronze pic thread, etc etc... Why not a Kryptek AR pic thread?? I don't actually own any AR with Kryptek patterns done on it....but I'd like to find a place that has a bunch of them so us arfcomers can check em out.
Here's my (photoshop) kryptek SBR.... I hope others contribute here......ready go.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhon Yea, I got that but their other pattern names have something to do with the terrain they are mimicking...typhon, being blue-based (like water) would make more sense as typhoon...like the storm, not a Greek monster-god...now if he was a water monster, maybe. |

How it cost to do? I am too much of a cheapass to pay for it... I look at it as another gun or more ammo I could be buying with the $$$. BUT, the guy that did this for me needed some Electrical work done and I traded work for it. He charges $250 for a AR and $150 for a pistol. He does somw QUALITY work! | Mines is in multicam. So I won't post pics here, but someone asked where to get hydrographics applied. My multicam was done by WW Guns Inc. They can also do Kryptek patterns. They did a great job with my hydrodip and the cerakote on my T1, Mark 6, and mounts. As for the durability of hydrographics? My rifle hasn't been beaten up or anything, but it's holding up well to normal use. It did wear away where the ejection port door slams open into the upper receiver, and the charging handle latch wore away some of it too. But those are normal wear areas that even the standard phosphate finish gets worn off. |

How durable are the hydro dip/graphics? ive done about three of my guns in various hydrographics. i by no means run around Iraq and play Lone Survivor but light field use hunting and whatnot it holds up well. only wear the graphics show are from dropping my ar on a rock driveway. nothing around the pistol grip or handguards from handling tho. |
