| Right on top of the elevation adjustment the entire metal piece that has the aperture in it is loose and rotates just a little. Is there any way to tighten it up? It sits canted to the right and isnt in line with the front sight. Im able to rotate it to where it is in line but the spring pushes it right back |

You can pin it: AR rear sight pining
or you can build up one side of the sight base by welding and grind it till it is straight |

The ones I've seen are similar to what you describe. Not much you can do about it as far as I know. Try installing a new or stronger spring. If the spring action is strong enough, you will not have an issue down range even though the sight unit will be biased (i.e., canted) to one side, as long as this bias is consistent as the unit moves up and down. |

| It is that way by design. When the parts are were designed, because of the adjustable elevation, there was going to be some play in the system. Play is not good obviously in a sight. That was addressed by installing a spring on one side, this keeps the sight in the same spot by taking up the play. If springs were installed on both sides to make it centered, it would defeat the purpose as the springs would be fighting with each other and not keep the sight in a consistent place. |
