| I recently bought a new Rainier Arms match grade nickel boron BCG for my Windham AR. I'm all kinds of excited to see how this thing runs today when I get it to the range and BOOM, wouldn't you know it, the rifle is not extracting the spent casings. So now it's stripping another round from the top of the mag and jamming itself up. This wasn't a one time thing. It happened every time I pulled the trigger. Not sure what the issue is. The gun ran flawlessly before I put this thing in. Please help. Thanks. |
| I would guess extractor or it's a different weight and not working with your current buffer. If it's a full auto profile bcg you may need a heavier buffer. Start with the extractor being the cheapest. Also take it apart and five everything a good cleaning and oiling. I had to do this with a new bcg I got. The oil they packed and shipped it in was causing some binding up. |
| If it turns out to be the extractor spring I use THESE. Never had a problem at all with them. |

Use the extractor assembly spring,insert from the windham bolt and put on the new bolt and see if it clears up. What I would try. While you have it disassembled compare the two for any mechanical differences also. Likely something simple. Rainier will do whatever it takes to remedy the problem if it comes to that. |

Not to piss in your Cheerios but ask yourself what is it going to really do for you that what came with it won't. I get it, but I'm not the first guy in this forum to upgrade the BCG in my rifle. I bought it because I shoot a lot and cleaning the NiB is a lot easier than scrubbing and scraping the standard phosphate carrier that came with the gun. |

In the Rainier Industry forum, some people had problems with NiB BCGs. Rainier took care of them. You may want to post there and also get ahold of Rainiers customer service. Your in good hands. |

The first thing to do is to take the bolt apart, and check that the extractor spring has a extractor spring insert inside it.
That little plug of silicone will make all the difference in how well the gun extracts, or if it extracts at all. If the extractor spring insert is in there, I'd go ahead and replace the extractor spring and extractor spring insert. On another track, I don't remember seeing where you stated what kind of ammo you are using, but if you were shooting steel case, I'd try adding the o-ring. |
