Anyone know where replacements can be had?  While tightening the castle nut, the endplate shifted and then liftoff; out shot the spring and detent pin with it.

Thanks in advance...

Check at The Citizen Armory.  They have really cheap shipping.....or just wait around, someone likely has an extra and will mail you one.

Replace with a set screw, and never lose it again.

I never have trouble with these anymore and I don't even use special tool. After losing my first one, I now slip the pin in from the opposite side to keep it from falling into the pin hole, push it down with my thumb nail and pull the pin back out and slide it over the top of the detent, and slide her home

I do have a spare or two, and would be happy to drop one in the mail to you OP.

PM me your info, if you want it, glad to help a member out.

JUST DON"T USE OIL.   On Aluminum you are a lot better off using WD40, or kerosene. Oil is way too sticky, keeps the chips stuck to the tap.
I also plug the Takedown pin hole when tapping.
