What do you guys think of them? (Mil-Comm MC25 Cleaner, Slip 200 725)
Something about a water based cleaner on a firearm seems wrong to me. Thoughts? |

I use just about whatever I have handy. ZEP cleaner, 409. SLIP 2000/725 just used this afternoon after shooting a couple 100 rds.
I've even scrubbed uppers and lowers in the kitchen sink using hot water. And if I need to I'd take them to a car wash. Just dry off all the water when finished. GD |

Since nobody has given you an answer here is my opinion. The water base cleaner I am familiar with is Slip 725 and its a good cleaner. You must remember to wipe away the excess and lube those areas to avoid any issue. Now I understand what your concerns are when it comes to water and firearms so once my Slip is used up I am changing to MPro 7 cleaner to avoid any rust or problems that can come from missing any areas where the water base product was sprayed. |
| I don't like water based cleaners for the obvious reason that it is water based. Out of the cleaners you mentioned, the only one I have experience with is the Slip version. I thought it was a poor performer....it just didn't show me much. I like their lubes, but the cleaner sucked. |
